THE CHALLENGE – to assess POWERLINE’S Information Technology needs and implement an economical alternative to their existing network infrastructure.

THE SOLUTION – TSG analysed POWERLINE’S network infrastructure. With only 2 systems in the office, the existing Windows 2003 SBS was deemed unnecessary, and replaced it with a 250GB External Hard Drive for Data Backup.
TSG implemented open-source backup software to perform nightly backups of all crucial data. POWERLINE was also given a Flash Drive to Backup crucial data for offsite backup purposes. TSG then setup VPN access to their network through Logmein, and installed a dual boot configuration with XP on the business owner’s Mac Laptop for Windows network connectivity.

THE RESULT – POWERLINE’S new economical designed network infrastructure allowed them to achieve an adequate level of data redundancy & security without the added expense of a Server. The result was a dramatic reduction is operating costs without sacrificing aspects of their business.
